Proverbs 20:3
It is an honor for a man to keep himself from getting entangled in strife; But foolish people are always meddling.
We all have purposes, hopes, dreams, and plans. We are all doing our best to run our race and succeed in reaching our goals. Therefore, making the necessary decisions and adjustments to reach them becomes an all consuming task that cannot afford any distractions. One of the most common distractions that can invade our lives and hinders us is strife, and strife usually comes from people. Personally, I hate strife. I prefer to acquaint myself with upbeat, positive, and determined people, because I have found these people to be the most honorable and consistent. They are usually great team players, whose sole goal is team success. When I surround myself with folks like this, I find myself constantly uplifted and encouraged to keep running, keep working, and keep believing that good things are going to transpire as a result of my faithfulness and God’s goodness. Also, I find that in building lasting relationships with folks that possess this kind of character, they in turn help me to become a more honorable person as well.
I know that we all have disagreements with folks that sometimes simply cannot be avoided. However, some people thrive on having strife in their lives, and go as far as creating situations that feed the seeds thereof. They always have something bad to say about someone. I guess that they feel that if they can create enough focus on everyone else, it will somehow detract attention from their own inadequacies and faults. These folks are huge nets and snares to our lives and their purposes. If you allow yourself to get involved in babblings, don’t expect to have a very peaceful and successful life. Frustration and disappointment are the only outcomes that one could expect to inherit from such activity. Therefore, when you see one of these “Drama Queens or Kings”, just look at them like a big giant net waiting to entangle you in their web of strife, and simply go the other way.
